  • Clos de Ste Anne is a single vineyard situated on steep northeast facing slopes in the foothills of Poverty Bay. The 2006 Pinot Noir comes from older plantings off the original Naboth’s Vineyard 1 Kings Ch. 21 as well as a new collection of modern clones from a planting further along the slope in a section we call “La Cote”. Hand harvested and sorted fruit was chilled, de-stemmed and fermented in small wooden cuves made from of French Oak. Aged in barriques. This wine presents a soft, feminine poise, hints of leather, dark earth, porcini, high end raspberry and floral characters. A gentle wine with old world charm – violets. • Opulent chardonnay, made with all the trappings, and now glowing with bottle maturity. The prolonged elevage has contributed fragrance of fresh bread and nougat. The almond and acacia honey notes have intensified with time, with the well-integrated fruit tannins providing excellent length. Closed with a high quality natural cork. more...

  • The Riverpoint Vineyard is situated alongside the old Waipaoa riverbed. The soils contain a high level of fine silt and silken clays and these minerals assist in producing aromatic and dense wines. The 2007 harvest was excellent, producing ripe grapes and full flavours. The Viognier was harvested by hand, fermented in small stainless steel tanks and old French oak barrels. The aromatic delight of Viognier is enhanced by partnering with foods high in Umami flavours, which also give a perceived impression of ‘saltiness’. A fine thread of residual sweetness intensifies the overall appeal as an aperitif with aged white cheeses. more...
