A Pioneer in Moscato d’Asti
In 1785, Giovanni Battista Bera purchased vineyards from the Sovereign Order of the Knights of Malta, laying the foundation for what would become one of the most historic names in Canelli. The estate was the first in the area to bottle and market its own Moscato d’Asti, and for over two centuries, the Bera family has remained devoted to the terroir of Sant'Antonio di Canelli. Today, the farm covers 12 hectares of steep, south-east-facing slopes with ancient calcareous soils formed from marine beds five million years ago.

Philosophy & Farming
Bera is firmly rooted in tradition, farming organically since 2000 and working the vines entirely by hand. The family’s approach is simple and respectful: low yields, manual harvests, spontaneous fermentations, indigenous yeasts, and minimal sulfites. No fining, no filtering—just wines shaped by nature and time.
Wine & Heritage
While Moscato remains the heart of their work, vinified in both sweet and dry styles to showcase the grape’s full potential, the estate also produces characterful whites from Cortese, Arneis, and Favorita, and classic reds from Barbera, Dolcetto, and Nebbiolo. Each wine is a direct reflection of its origin, a taste of Canelli’s heritage bottled by a family with more than 200 years of history on these hillsides.
