The History
Clos de Somméré is a new domaine born from the partnership between the Santé family of La Roche-Vineuse and cousins Régis & Sylvain from Marseille. The Santé family, who have farmed in the Mâconnais since 1848, bring over 10 hectares of vineyards across five appellations (Saint-Véran, Mâcon La Roche-Vineuse, Bourgogne Aligoté, Bourgogne Rouge, and Bourgogne Blanc). Régis and Sylvain, active in wine since 2017, now step into full-time viticulture, joining forces with the Santé family to launch this project officially with the 2023 vintage.
Viticulture & Winemaking
Now with Régis & Sylvain’s active participation, there’s a renewed focus on working closely in the vineyards to understand and respond to climatic challenges and ensure sustainable production. The domaine practices low-intervention farming with an emphasis on traditional techniques and a close connection to the terroir.
The winemaking philosophy at Clos de Somméré blends traditional Burgundian rigour with fresh energy from the new partnership. The team focuses on precise, respectful winemaking to highlight the purity of the grape and the character of each site.
