The History

Domaine Les Aphillanthes is a rising star of the southern Rhône. Proprietor Daniel Boulle, together with his wife Helene, has been tending his vines for many years, and until the late '90s he was happy to sell his produce to the local co-operative. In an effort to be 'closer to nature' in 1999,  Daniel and Helene founded Domaine Les Aphillanthes.

The Philosophy

Domaine Les Aphillanthes’ and their 30ha of vines, located near Gigondas in the Rhône Valley, are well known for their high standards and for the quality of the fruit they grow - they keep only the best 80% and sell the rest. They limit themselves to producing only 130,000 bottles every year and produce about 20-30hl/ha which is significantly lowers than the locally allowed 45hl/ha.

In the vineyard, they farm Organically and Biodynamically and grow Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan, Cinsault, Viognier, Roussanne and Clairette, on clay-limestone soils.
