The Dr. Bürklin-Wolf Estate in Wachenheim is one of the largest and most important family-owned wineries in Germany with its origins dating back to 1597.
The History
Today Bettina Bürklin, an ancestor of the original founder Bernard Bürklin runs the estate with her husband Christian. Bettina inherited the estate from her parents in 1990. Since then she has turned the estate on its head, enacting many changes in both the vineyard and the cellar to achieve her vision of an estate existing in harmony with nature
The Philosophy
Bettina converted the entire estate to Organic and then Biodynamic agriculture – solidifying Dr.Bürklin-Wolf’s place as the first German member of the prestigious Biodyvin group.
Bettina sees the use of Biodynamic agriculture as the winery’s best tool to express the specific properties of each vineyard.
