Bringing forgotten Mosel vineyards back to life.

Madame Flöck Wines is a tiny, boundary-pushing estate in the Terrassenmosel dedicated to restoring some of the steepest and oldest Riesling and Müller-Thurgau terraces in Lehmen and Winningen. Founded by New Yorker Robert Kane and originally co-run with Derek-Paul Labelle, the project started as casual idea that grew into a full-scale mission.

All vineyards are dry-grown, herbicide-free and entirely hand-tended, often across 10-13 terraces of blue grey slate.

Celebrating the raw, mineral power of the Terrassenmosel.

Their winemaking philosophy is traditional, natural and transparent. Fruit is hand harvested, whole clusters are gently handled, fermentations rely on wild yeasts, and ageing takes place in mature French oak or stainless steel. Wines are unfined, unfiltered, low sulphur and free of additives.

Since 2025, Madame Flöck has been run solely by Robert Kane, who lives in Winningen with his winemaker wife Janina Schmitt. His focus remains on reviving abandoned terraces, farming without compromise and making wines that celebrate the raw, mineral power of the Terrassenmosel.
