2024 Marcel Lapierre Morgon Tradition Vieilles Vignes
Varietal: gamay
Region: beaujolais
SKU: 816389
The Vieilles Vignes comes from old Gamay vines rooted in Morgon’s iron-rich soils and remains one of the benchmark wines of the appellation.
"This is one very serious gamay - before even tasting it the nose is offering up far more complex aromas than most gamays - anise, tarragon, pepper, slightly, meaty/chorizo, cherry pit, flint and ferrous/iron notes. It is medium weight, but warm, intense and rich with warmth and richness. Great flavour intensity and concentration. Excellent to outstanding length."
- 95pts, David Lawrason. Tasted May 6, 2026.
A benchmark for modern Beaujolais that consistently delivers honesty, balance and drinkability at the highest level.

About Domaine Lapierre
Few producers changed the trajectory of an entire region the way Marcel Lapierre did in Beaujolais.
In the 1980s, when much of the region was drifting toward industrial farming, cultured yeasts and formulaic “Nouveau” wines, Lapierre helped lead the return to organic viticulture, native fermentations and low-sulphur winemaking in Morgon. He became part of the legendary “Gang of Four” that re-established Cru Beaujolais as serious, terroir-driven wine capable of real depth and aging.
Today, Mathieu and Camille Lapierre continue that work with even greater precision in the cellar while preserving the energy and transparency that made the domaine iconic.
