Domaine Marcel Lapierre
Few producers changed the trajectory of an entire region the way Marcel Lapierre did in Beaujolais. In the 1980s, when much of the region was drifting toward industrial farming, cultured yeasts and formulaic “Nouveau” wines, Lapierre helped lead the return to organic viticulture, native fermentations and low-sulphur winemaking in Morgon. He became part of the legendary “Gang of Four” that re-established Cru Beaujolais as serious, terroir-driven wine capable of real depth and aging.
Today, Mathieu and Camille Lapierre continue that work with even greater precision in the cellar while preserving the energy and transparency that made the domaine iconic.
