From above the 1er Cru on the Vosne side of Nuits St. Georges, at 320 meters, on a slab of hard pink limestone with shallow clay soils. Long-time organic farming, minimal use of SO2. 30% new barrels by Francis Miquel. The nose is deep and ripe with boysenberry, red currant, exotic spice box, and blood orange zest aromas that mingle with deep soil notes. The palate is concentrated and round but not extracted with gorgeous red and black fruits. Complex and velvety. A young wine, but more forward and immediately enjoyable than previous vintages. Perhaps at its best between 2027 - 2040, but drinking so beautifully now..why wait?
