The Vaumuriens is a high-elevation site with clay and limestone soils from 35-year-old vines. The vineyard is north-facing, which means the wines have higher acidity and age beautifully. Aged for approximately a year and a half in 30% new oak. This wine showcases the typicity of Pommard with power well balanced with freshness. Ripe black cherry and plum, with hints of brown spice, citrus zest and earth. There is nicely sappy, chalky fruit on the palate - black cherry, plum, red currant - backed by firm acidity.
