2022 Foradori Siccagno

Siccagno is Arianna Occhipinti’s 100% Nero d’Avola, sourced from her biodynamic vineyards in the Vittoria highlands.

The name references the traditional, water-stressed training of Nero d’Avola in this region, a method that concentrates flavour and naturally moderates yields. The 2022 vintage shows both the power of the grape and the finesse that defines Arianna’s touch.

Vines grow on the area’s characteristic red sand over limestone at roughly 280 meters elevation, offering bright acidity, minerality and aromatic lift. Grapes are hand harvested and fermented spontaneously with native yeasts, with long, gentle maceration to preserve elegance and avoid harsh tannin. Ageing takes place in large Slavonian oak casks for about 16 months, followed by additional time in bottle. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration and with minimal sulphur.

Tasting note
Deep yet refined, with aromas of black cherry, plum skin, violets, tobacco leaf and warm spice. The palate is structured but graceful, balancing concentration with freshness and a long and savoury finish.
