Made with fruit from old-vines planted a stones through (~15 miles) from the Atlantic Ocean, in a clay-limestone soil. 75% Alfrocheiro and 25% Baga from Quinta de S. Mateus. Grapes are co-fermented and macerated/fermented in open vats for 10 days. After the grapes are pressed off the wine ages for 10 months in old 300 litre barrels.
Medium-bodied, rustic yet smooth. Notes of stewed red berries, red fruit leather, spice and earth.
