Year after year, Fernando Jalon masterfully balances aroma, structure, and sustainability in his winemaking. His 10-hectare estate, one of the smallest in the region, is organically farmed and home to vines over 30 years old.
Bodegas Jalón’s Peña Aldera Rioja Reserva is a 90% Tempranillo, 5% Graciano, 5% Mazuelo blend from family vineyards in Rioja’s Iregua Valley. The wine undergoes at least 24 months of aging in oak barriques—predominantly American oak—followed by careful stabilization in stainless-steel vats before bottling. This process yields vibrant aromas of ripe blackberries and blueberries layered with warm spice, vanilla, and subtle tertiary notes. On the palate it's full-bodied yet supple, with gentle tannins and a long, elegant finish.
Perfect alongside grilled meats, roasted vegetables, or aged cheeses, it’s also built to evolve beautifully over time.
