A distinctive wine from one of Spain’s most singular landscapes.
Filitas y Lutita comes from the dramatic, slate covered hillsides of Málaga’s Axarquía, one of the steepest and most historic viticultural zones in Spain. Sourced from old bush vines of Moscatel de Alejandría and Pedro Ximénez, planted on impossibly inclined schist and phyllite soils, this wine captures the sharp minerality and coastal freshness that define the region.
The vineyards are dry farmed, hand tended and harvested manually due to slopes often exceeding 40% gradient. Fermentation is spontaneous with native yeasts in stainless steel and used barrels. The wine rests on fine lees for additional texture and aromatic depth, with minimal intervention throughout.
Tasting note
Intensely mineral with aromas of citrus blossom, white peach, wild herbs and sea spray. Moscatel adds floral lift while PX brings structure and salinity. The palate is precise and linear with fine texture, vibrant acidity and a long, slate-driven finish.
