From the single steep terrace in Winningen known as Mad Dog Warwick, named after the mentor who introduced the founders. The site sits high on the slope with a west-facing aspect, constant winds and slightly cooler temperatures, allowing extended ripening without botrytis pressure. Vines are hand tended, dry grown and herbicide free, with half the vineyard retrained to the traditional Mosel heart system for balanced acidity.
Wild fermentation, minimal sulphur and ageing in mature oak and steel give a tightly wound, deeply mineral Riesling with notes of lemon peel, crushed slate, orchard blossom and cool river herbs.
