Like father, like son, Martin Texier is growing and crafting singular Northern Rhône Syrah (among other varieties). His Brézème rouge is made from fruit growing on a hillside of broken down limestone-dominant (as opposed to the usual granitic soils of the area) soils. It is both pretty and classic. Made with half whole-cluster, half destemmed fruit, fermented in tank and held in bottle for a generous period of time before release. Notes of purple flowers, garrigue, briney black olives and just a touch of game.
