The Piccolo family has been growing grapes in Italy since the 1300s, and are now managing vineyards in Maremma and Chianti. Maceration and fermentation in stainless steel tanks with frequent pump overs. Once the wine finishes malo, it gets moved to oak vats where it continues to age. Ruby red in the glass with lots of red fruit and cherry aromas. Slightly spicy, with pepper and clove. Full-bodied taste and elegant tannin, strong comeback of the cherry and a persistent finish.
