2017 Fidora Fraune Valpolicella Ripasso Classico

In the Fumane Valley, at the heart of Valpolicella Classica, the Fidora family farms Tenuta Fraune organically and biodynamically. Their Ripasso Classico Superiore offers a richer expression of the region's traditional red grapes, combining ripe fruit, savoury complexity and the structure to develop with age.

The Ripasso method gives the wine its distinctive character. After its initial fermentation, Valpolicella wine undergoes a second fermentation on the grape skins remaining from Amarone production, adding depth, concentration, and texture.

Now with several years of bottle age, the 2017 vintage offers ripe black cherry, dried plum, sweet spice and subtle vanilla, with balsamic undertones. Full-bodied and dry, with rounded tannins, balanced acidity and a long, warming finish.
