2025 Marcel Lapierre Morgon Tradition Vieilles Vignes No SO2
Varietal: gamay
Region: beaujolais
SKU: 354067
This is the first time Ontario sees this no SO2 expression.
Old-vine Gamay on roches pourries from vineyard averaging 60 years old, balancing vibrant fruit with the savoury depth and structure that define Morgon. Open and generous in youth. Capable of becoming increasingly earthy and complex with time.
The grapes come from the same old-vine vineyards as the classic Morgon, just bottled without added sulphur. The cellar decision changes. The vineyard does not. The result is a brighter, more immediate expression of the same granitic landscape.
Vineyard averaging 60 years old, 10 ha
Sandy decomposed granite
Aged on fine lees in old Burgundy barrels
Organic (certified)

About Domaine Lapierre
Few producers changed the trajectory of an entire region the way Marcel Lapierre did in Beaujolais.
In the 1980s, when much of the region was drifting toward industrial farming, cultured yeasts and formulaic “Nouveau” wines, Lapierre helped lead the return to organic viticulture, native fermentations and low-sulphur winemaking in Morgon. He became part of the legendary “Gang of Four” that re-established Cru Beaujolais as serious, terroir-driven wine capable of real depth and aging.
Today, Mathieu and Camille Lapierre continue that work with even greater precision in the cellar while preserving the energy and transparency that made the domaine iconic.
