2022 Domaine des Marnes Blanches L'Étoile 'Au Rettin' Chardonnay

L'Étoile is one of Jura's smallest and most distinctive appellations. Named for the star shaped marine fossils scattered through its white marl soils, it is a place where Chardonnay finds remarkable  tension and mineral depth.

Pauline and Géraud Fromont founded Domaine de Marnes Blanches in 2006 and have become leading voices in Jura's new generation. Farming organically and harvesting entirely by hand. Fermentation begins with indigenous yeasts, and the wine is aged 34 months in older oak using the ouillé method, where barrels are regularly topped up to preserve freshness rather than encourage Jura's traditional oxidative character.

Bright green apple, lemon curd, and crushed seashell lead the way, followed by a subtle note of warm brioche. Focused with vibrant citrus acidity and a long, stony finish.
