2022 Domaine des Marnes Blanches Côtes du Jura 'Empreinte' Chardonnay

Empreinte comes from a single parcel in L'Étoile, where Lias marl and fossil rich limestone produce one of Jura's most distinctive expressions of Chardonnay. This is a landscape that has long been synonymous with the region's traditional sous voile wines.

Pauline and Géraud Fromont founded Domaine de Marnes Blanches in 2006 and have become leading voices in Jura's new generation. Farming organically and harvesting entirely by hand. After spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, the wine ages for up to 36 months in old oak barrels without topping up, allowing a natural veil of yeast to slowly shape its unmistakable oxidative character.

Fresh walnut, dried apple, curry spice, fenugreek, and toasted pastry unfold over a powerful yet remarkably precise palate. Saline, complex, and intensely savoury, with a long, focused finish.
