2019 Rasteau Vieilles Vignes - SOLD OUT

"An immediately arresting wine here form the southern Rhône, deeply coloured, inky, with a massive nose-full of fresh but super-ripe black berry/cassis fruit, heavy on the syrah I'd guess (actually: 60% Grenache - 20% Syrah - 10% Carignan - 10% Cinsault) , also with plenty of floral-violet notes, very engaging all in all. The palate is a gentle giant, broad-scaled but not overly boozy or tannic, bursting with that dark fruit. Hugely satisfying, contemporary, but also regionally authentic. Drinkable now, but I'd suggest another 1-3 years in the cellar for the maximum complexity." 91 points
