Pure old-vine Gamay drawn from parcels planted as far back as the 1920s and 1930s on Morgon’s decomposed granite soils. Everything is harvested by hand, fermented whole cluster with native yeasts and aged in old barrels with minimal intervention.

The cooler 2024 vintage brings beautiful freshness to the Thévenet style. Black cherry and violet lead into something earthier and more savoury, with silky fruit, fine tannins and that unmistakable granitic backbone. Vibrant and delicious now, but with all the depth and structure that makes great Morgon worth cellaring.Jean-Paul Thévenet is one of the original “Gang of Four” who, alongside Marcel Lapierre, Jean Foillard and Guy Breton, helped change the course of Beaujolais in the 1980s. Today, he works his five-hectare estate in Morgon with his son Charly, farming organically and biodynamically.
