Unico Zelo was founded by Brendan and Laura Carter with a focus on Mediterranean grape varieties suited to Australia's warm, dry growing conditions.
Esoterico has become one of their most recognisable wines, an aromatic, skin-contact blend that brings together several varieties rarely seen in the same bottle. This wine is a blend of Zibibbo, Gewürztraminer, Moscato Giallo, Greco and Fiano from Riverland. They spend approximately two weeks fermenting on their skins before maturation in large oak casks.
Fragrant and textured, with mandarin peel, dried apricot, rosehip and black tea, alongside floral and herbal notes. Particularly good with spicy dishes, kimchi fried rice or grilled fish.
