First produced in 1923, Buon Padre has been a Viberti flagship for over a century. It brings together Nebbiolo from ten sites across the Barolo appellation, including Bricco delle Viole, Ravera and Perno to create a wine that reflects the broader character of Barolo.
Following fermentation, the wine spends 36 months in large, untoasted, steamed Slavonian oak vats, allowing its tannins to develop without the pronounced oak flavours.
The warm 2022 vintage delivers generous red and dark cherry fruit, wild raspberry, rosehip and violet, with notes of liquorice, sweet spice and tobacco. Full-bodied and structured, with firm Nebbiolo tannins, lively acidity and a long, savoury finish.
A classic Barolo that is approachable today, but with the structure to reward further cellaring.
