The History
Domaine Parent, based in Pommard, Burgundy, traces its origins back to the early 17th century, with its official founding in 1803. The family gained historical prominence when Etienne Parent began supplying wine to Thomas Jefferson in the late 18th century.
Since 1998, sisters Anne and Catherine Parent have led the domaine—Anne managing winemaking and Catherine overseeing commercial operations—marking the first time the estate has been run by women in its 12-generation history.

Viticulture
The domaine spans about 10 hectares across prestigious appellations including Pommard, Volnay, Beaune, and Corton Grand Cru, with a strong focus on Pommard Premier Crus such as Les Epenots and Les Chanlins. Committed to sustainability, the estate transitioned to organic viticulture in the early 2000s and achieved certification in 2013. Biodynamic methods were introduced in 2010, and horse plowing is employed in some vineyards to preserve soil vitality.
Winemaking
In the cellar, Anne employs traditional Burgundian techniques with careful attention to detail. Fermentation is carried out using native yeasts, with maceration periods varying between 15 to 21 days depending on the vintage and vineyard.
The wines are aged in French oak barrels, with the proportion of new oak adjusted according to the wine's classification—village wines receive approximately 20-30% new oak, premier crus 30-40%, and grand crus up to 50% .
This approach ensures that the oak complements rather than dominates the wine, allowing the nuances of each terroir to shine through.
