La Gemella refers to Maria Viberti, Claudio’s mother, who is herself a twin. This Barbera d’Alba is crafted to reflect a classic style: bold yet balanced, expressive yet elegant.
Made from estate-grown Barbera grapes, the wine undergoes natural fermentation with minimal intervention. It is aged for about nine to twelve months in large oak “tini” vats, allowing fruit purity and varietal expression to shine without heavy oak influence.
La Gemella 2023 is a textbook example of what the Langhe can offer at excellent value: Barbera with structure, elegance and clarity. Not overdone, not flamboyant.
