2024 Marnes Blanches Coup de Jus "Space Monkey"

A little Alsace by way of the Jura. Pauline and Géraud Fromont are best known for the wines they grow and make at Domaine des Marnes Blanches in Sainte-Agnès, and Coup de Jus is their small négociant project, allowing them to work with organic fruit grown by friends beyond their own vineyards.

For Space Monkey, old-vine Pinot Blanc and Auxerrois are sourced from a close friend farming organically on limestone soils in Alsace. Hand-picked fruit makes its way back to the Fromonts’ cellar in Sainte-Agnès, where it ferments with native yeasts in neutral barrels. There is no fining or filtration and little to no added sulphur.

Pear and crisp apple meet citrus zest and wild herbs, with juicy fruit, lively acidity and a salty finish. Fresh and easygoing, but with enough texture to give this little space monkey some substance.
