2023 Domaine Ratte Arbois 'Grand Curoulet' Chardonnay

Grand Curoulet is one of Arbois' historic vineyard sites, where clay rich, fossil laden limestone soils produce laser-sharp and brilliantly energized Chardonnay. 

The Ratte family has farmed this site for generations and has bottled their own wines since establishing the estate in Arbois. Farming organically and biodynamically since 1989, they harvest entirely by hand. After spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, the wine spends up to 18 months aging in stainless steel using the ouillé method. The absence of oak allows the character of Grand Curoulet to emerge with exceptional clarity.

Green apple, preserved lemon, white blossom, and wet stone lead into a focused, linear palate. Silky in texture, with vibrant citrus acidity and a long, saline, mineral driven finish.
