2023 Domaine Ratte Arbois 'La Regaule' Chardonnay

La Regaule comes from a sun drenched hillside in Arbois, where chalk and grey marl produce Chardonnay of remarkable generosity without sacrificing the freshness and mineral drive that define Jura. Warmth and precision exist here in equal measure.

The Ratte family has farmed this site for generations and has bottled their own wines since establishing the estate in Arbois. Farming organically and biodynamically since 1989, they harvest entirely by hand. After spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, the wine is aged in stainless steel using the ouillé method for 10 months on its fine lees. The absence of oak allows the vineyard's mineral character to remain front and centre.

Ripe pear, lemon curd, wet stone, smoky flint, and almond open into a generous yet finely sculpted palate. Silky in texture, with vibrant citrus acidity and a deep, savoury saline finish.
